A little about me...I moved to Florida from South Carolina shortly after I graduated from college. I have been married to Mr. Mazak since 2006 and we have a beautiful daughter who also attends Plato Academy. There is also our dog, Havana, that is a Shetland sheep dog. For fun, I love to bake and be crafty. Any chance I get I love to go to Disney or Universal Studios.
I worked in the corporate world for about 10 years, where I felt a void in my life. I always enjoyed math and something just told me I needed to get back to it. I went back to school to get my teaching certificate in 2014. Plato offered me a job that I could not refused, and I could not be more happy to be teaching these kids math. My void has been filled, thanks to the staff, and families of Plato.
Plato Academy Schools utilize Pearson textbooks and e-learning integration curriculum along with supplemental resources for our K-5 and McGraw-Hill textbooks and Pearson e-learning curriculum for grades 6-8, in addition to innovative teaching methods, and the Socratic method of teaching, our students gain a thorough command of reading, mathematics, science, writing, social studies and language arts throughout their years at Plato Academy.

Critical Thinking: STEM, Coding, Robotics, and Finance Park
STEM is an educational program developed to prepare primary and secondary students for college and graduate study in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In addition to subject-specific learning, STEM aims to foster inquiring minds, logical reasoning, and collaboration skills.
Coding curriculum will come from Scratch. Scratch is a free visual programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab. Scratch is used by students, scholars, teachers, and parents to easily create animations, games, etc.
Robotics curriculum will come from Lego EV3. Through hands-on learning, LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 will enable your students to: understand forces and motion; graph and interpret rotation sensor data; develop robots capable of complex thinking using logical structures and sensor feedback; understand that complex systems are created from subsystems; and design, build and program a fully-functioning robotic system.
